RPEQ Assessment Body RPEQ Logo

Applicants wishing to be assessed for RPEQ registration in the area of Civil Engineering need to meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum four year Bachelor of Engineering degree from an Australian university. Where a degree other than this is held or for overseas qualifications not covered by the Washington Accord, the Assessment Board will conduct an additional assessment to determine equivalency and an additional fee will be charged.
  • A minimum of five years delivering engineering services under the supervision of an RPEQ or equivalent.
  • Technical Officers having completed MEPrac may also apply subject to having had a minimum of five years supervised experience.
  • Have completed 50 hours of CPD per year for three years. Because IPWEA Queensland members already gain CPD hours through our extensive professional development program, engineers with less than five years experience can start building their career portfolio and have all the documentation ready to apply once they reach the five year milestone – you can use our online CPD Logbook to start recording your professional development activities today. All applicants for RPEQ registration must familiarise themselves with the Continuing Professional Development expectation for RPEQ – please refer to our CPD Logbook and guidelines for details.

Applicants must meet and fulfil the relevant criteria as set out in the IPWEA Queensland By-Laws, Guidelines and Regulations and comply with the IPWEAQ Code of Ethics.
